Words of the Baron & Baroness – October 2022

Unto the Barony of Loch Salann do We Raven and Sajah send warmest greetings.

It has been some small amount of time since our last missive. We have had some small adventures across the kingdom and even across the known world. Amongst our travels we had opportunity to witness as their Majesties sought out their heirs. We appreciate all the effort that went into making crown tournament hosted by Stan Wyrm and Windgate in the northern reaches of artemisia. Throughout our adventures we found as always that that the Artemisian host is beginning to find it’s feet as we spend time together at more and more in person events.

We are glad to see that fighter practice, archery and other baronial activities continue to occur regularly. Both Archery and Fighter have found indoor practice sites.

We have some critical offices that we will need to find new people to fill the positions for. Sir Conall has served as our Knight Marshall for some time and needs to have someone step up to cover this critical office in the baronies infrastructure. You don’t have to be a fighter to hold this office. You just need to have a mind for the rules and reporting.

Our Chatelaine will be stepping down this is an office for someone that enjoys working with new people as they are often the first contacts for new people joining the SCA. Other duties of the chatelaine are to help coordinate demos and to occasionally help with new comer events.

Our barony is also in need of a herald to help consult with the populace to determine and register unique and suitable arms as well as help them choose and register their persona names in the society.

For up Coming Events:
On the 12th of November we will be attending Toys for Tots in Arrows Flight. If you are not able to attend Toys for Tots but would still like to contribute please contact us and we can help coordinate.

On the 19th of November we will be attending Baronial Birthday in One Thousand Eyes. this promises to be a fun even with the addition of the Queens Prize Arts and Sciences tournament being held as well as the investiture of the new Baron and Baroness planned.

This leads us to our next event in Loch Salann to Winter Solstice will be held on the 10th of December. Lord Vuse and Lady Violetta have been putting a great deal of effort in to make this an enjoyable day with some Italian flair..

We hope to see many of you joining us in supporting our neighbors and enjoying the time with good friends as the year draws to a close.
