Baron’s Words – September 2015

Unto the Most Ancient Barony of Loch Salann do We, Dunkr and Owna send greetings!

The summer draws to a close, and it is time to take stock of our crops and bring in the Harvest. August found us visiting our good neighbors to the East, the Shire of Otherhill, to participate in Artemisian Games, and a great day of Games was had indeed. Archery, field games, board games, and heavy combat to name a few. We ended the month of August visiting our good cousins in Sentinel’s Keep for the Coronation of Ibrahim and Esther for an AMAZING day of Ceremony, Feasting and Fighting! If you missed it, you missed an amazing day!

As I mentioned earlier, the time draws near to bring in the Harvest, and that can only mean one thing. HARVEST WAR!!!!! Our first plans for September bring us to the fields of the Shire of Cote Du Ciel to enjoy the Harvest war! As has been a tradition during our tenure on the Baronial thrones, we have asked our friends to host a party and Harvest war is once again ripe with potential for a great LOCHTOBERFEST! Much thanks for Count Raven and his household for helping us bring an end to the war season as only Loch Salann knows how.

October will find us attending Crown tournament in the Shire of Bronzehelm and Harvest Court in the Barony of Sentinel’s Keep.

Their Majesties are in the final week of discussion on whom will take up the mantle of Baron and Baroness at the turning of the year and our celebration of the Solstice, and the announcement should be made at Harvest War!

We would like to thank Lady Germaine Jambert l’Innocente for taking up the mantle of Rapier marshal on short notice.

We are currently looking for a new Chatelaine, as Her Excellency Vigdis has served well beyond her two years and is deserving of a rest.

The rest of our officer corp. is stable and looking for deputies in nearly every office. If you have ever wanted to help server your Barony, taking the role as a deputy is a great way to learn how!

Stay cool and safe!
