Populace! I present to you a challenge!
We are past the Baronial arts and sciences competition this year and it is time to look forward to next year’s competition! The format will be the same as this year: in order to enter for champion, you must enter 3-5 items in 2 grand categories. BUT! As your MOAS I have an additional challenge to offer you!
I present: The Persona Triathlon!
I was inspired by the Persona Pentathlons held in other kingdoms to create a slightly smaller challenge for our competition. I will provide a handmade token to each person who chooses to take on this additional challenge and completes it.
In order to meet the challenge, you must:
* Enter three items from three of the categories below. (Or five if you want to take the full Persona Pentathlon challenge! You only need to enter three to fulfill my challenge, but if you’re an overachiever you should definitely do you boo!). If you have any questions about which category an item belongs in please contact me.
* There can be no overlap of categories (ie. an embroidered coif that is entered as both category 1 and category 5). It must be three separate items.
* Provide documentation for each item you present.
* Present the items in the Baronial Arts and Sciences competition or Artisans Display at Defenders Tourney in A.S. LIV (2020).
* You do not need to be a member of the Barony to participate in the challenge or to enter Arts and Sciences, but only a member of the Barony may become Baronial Champion or Defender.
Categories:
- Category 1: Garb/fiber arts/fabric decoration (clothing, embroidery, weaving, lace making, etc)
- Category 2: Food/drink (cooked, brewed, smoked, aged. Anything you can eat or drink)
- Category 3: Tools/implements (could include tools for making things, musical instruments, dishes, utensils, etc)
- Category 4: Performance/fine arts (carving, performing, writing, painting, etc)
- Category 5: Accessories (jewelry, millinery, toys, etc)
- Category 6: Manuscript and scribal arts (calligraphy, illumination, papermaking, bookbinding, etc)
- Category 7: Miscellaneous (anything that doesn’t quite fit in another category)
