Barons Words – March 2017

Unto the Most Ancient Barony of Loch Salann do We, Æylwin and Amanda, send greetings!

Our heralds tell Us that Old Man Winter is losing the battle and that Mother Nature is sharing the bounty of Spring! Come, one and all, and share with us the joy of March! This month will be very busy with many events in the local area! I look forward to sharing stories with you and bearing witness to the fine displays of all aspects of the dream!

Start off the month on the 4th with a trip to our very own Defender’s Tourney. Come join us to see who our next champions will be for armored combat, fencing, arts and sciences and bardic arts! Then join us on the 11th, once more in the Loch, for Kingdom Coronation as we celebrate the six-month anniversary of Their Majesties Lochlan and Vigdis! There will also be tournaments to see who the next kingdom champions will be! On the weekend of the 18th, join our northern cousins of 1000 Eyes as they host their champions tourney! Finally, on the 25th We travel to Arrow’s Flight to share in their amazing hospitality and play fun games at the annual Mystery Activity! Stay tuned for more details via our many modes of communication. Please feel free to contact us with any needs or concerns you have, and be certain to share with us your favorite games, dances, and stories as we plan for coming events.

Looking forward to April, there are also many grand opportunities to join in the revelry at Crown Tournament and Honor War (An Tir), so plan ahead and celebrate with everyone.

We are currently looking to make the weapons and armor needed to hold the Youth Champion’s tourney at Melee Madness. Please contact us if you have interest and a willingness to help make all the gear. My goal is to have at least four full sets of gear in order to have the children of the Loch and surrounding areas join in the fun! Dates to be determined; let us know what works for you!

Finally, join us Wednesday night on the Ides of March (15th) at Sir Leah and Sir Robert de Spencer’s home for a Baronial Populace Meeting, followed by the officer’s forum. There are many issues to which we seek your input and guidance, including Baron’s War and our annual planning of events, winter site for fighter practice and more!

We remain ever in your service!
