The Saga of Grettir the Strong:
Once upon a time there was a land, barren of the dream until did Ferilith MacDonald come from the far reaches of Drachenvaldt and shined the light of the Society in the Salty Lands that came to be known as Loch Salann. Since that time many seasons have come and gone and the dream still shines and grows because of the people who have drawn near it.
Come one and all, AElwynn and Amanda, 13th Baron and 14th Baroness of Loch Salann holding the lands in the name of the King and Queen of all Artemisia, invite you, as they step down, to a two-fold celebration- the 40th birthday of the Barony and the investiture of Hôggar Hanson and Bronwyn Morgan, as the 14th Baron and 15th Baroness of Mighty Loch Salann.
For 40 years has the Great Barony stood sharing our Service, our Arts and Sciences, and our Chivalry while protecting all from the Great Brine Shrimp. There are many “No kidding- there we were” moments, and we wish you to come share your stories and celebrate our 40th birthday. For three years have AElwynn and Amanda held these lands for the Crown and have been honored to serve the most wonderful people in the Known World but it is time for them to pass the mantle and for the Age of Hôggar and Bronwyn to begin. Come and rejoice that the dream may continue and grow.
There will be history displays – please bring items to show. There will be an Arts and Sciences display themed Then and Now. Our own Musicians Guild will be providing live dance music. There will be period games, youth activities, a visit from Father Christmas, a grand procession, and a scavenger hunt based on the history of our wonderful Barony!
Holdtyte is sponsoring a table decorating competition for the feast– the theme is Baronial History. So gather your household and be creative in expressing the joy of our game and the history of the barony.
Feast is being prepared by the Crystal Bloom and the Youth of the Barony under the watchful eye of His Excellency Johann Wolfblut. Menu will be posted as the event draws nearer. If you have any specific dietary concerns please send a message to [email protected].

Location: Greek Orthodox Church on 279 S 300 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. There is wheelchair access to the building and bathrooms.

Feast fee is $12 for adults – $5 for children ages 10 and under.
