What an amazing year was 2017. Let us share the coming of the New Year with warm hearts and even warmer hospitality and kindness!
There are many opportunities to share The Dream with us and those around the greatest barony in the Known World, so please plan to attend as much as you may! January is certainly an action-packed month this year as we will go to stand up Artemisia’s newest Barony, Bronzehelm, on the first weekend. We send a great welcome to our newest cousins, TE Til and Isabaeu! Then, it is off to Gryphon’s Lair to say thank you and farewell to TE Asgeir and Allesandria, while welcoming in Their Excellencies Owen and Malkin to the thrones of Gryphon’s Lair. Then, it is off to The Barony of 1000 Eyes to spend time with our gentle cousins TE Alan and Avelyn at the Soaring Peacock celebration. Then, to wrap up the month, we have an opportunity to spend time with our cousins, TE Gomez and Merin of Arn Hold at the Masked Ball!
With February on the Horizon, Their Majesties are en route to Atenvelt for the Estrella War and we wholeheartedly encourage you to join them, if you are able! See Facebook for more details regarding camping and other site details. The journey will certainly be worth your while!
Also, there are many opportunities to share with Us your knowledge, friendship, and joy for history in local activities, ranging from fighter practice, Arts and Sciences meetings, including the University of Loch Salann, workshops, Guild meetings, and more! We are looking into a new arrangement for fighters practice, moving it back to Tuesdays and changing locations. More details as it becomes official soon! On Wednesday, the 17th of January there is a populace meeting at Their Excellencies’ home where you can share your thoughts and concerns, helping us to plan for the future of the barony. Please plan to attend and/or share with us your thoughts and plans!
Thanks to Master Turi and m’lord Bastion, our Youth Combat program is once again on its feet and in full swing! Please let us know if you and your children would like to participate. Classes are being conducted to help you design and make the gear for your children so they can participate! Reach out to Bastion for more details and a copy fo the kingdom rules! We will have some loaner gear ready for our formal tournament at Defenders on 10th of March! Help Us determine who the next Youth Champions will be for the barony!
A call to arms! His Excellency, Ælwynn, is issuing a call to arms for members of the rapier guard and heavy armored guard to unite and start training in melee! He is calling for ten members of each guard willing to fall in and train as a unit, in preparation for coming war season! Workshops are being established to make the tabards, shields, and gear! Reach out to Us to help plan and orchestrate the workshops so we can field baronial units at upcoming events, including Castle Crusades, Melee Madness, Uprising, Barons’ War and more! It is a great opportunity to build camaraderie and skills in the war field tactics.
We are currently looking for officers of Chatelaine/ Hospitaller, and many offices seek deputies to help in the general operation of the Barony. Also, please consider serving as an Autocrat/ Event Steward for upcoming events, year-round.
