Baron’s Words – January 2016

Unto the Most Ancient Barony of Loch Salann do We, Æylwin and Amanda, send greetings!

As the New Year arrives with the promise of wonderful things to come and we reflect on this past year, we are reminded of the many amazing blessings we have. This certainly includes you, the populace of Loch Salann, and the wonderful things you do to make the Dream a reality!

December has been a true dream for us as we were so very honored and humbled to step up as Baron and Baroness of the great Barony of Loch Salann. We were surrounded by many friends and blessed by the trust and mantle of leadership placed in our care. We endeavor to always be worthy of such trust. We look forward to sharing our great adventure with each and every one of you and we are excited to hear your council on every aspect of the Barony and its daily operation.  In this endeavor we will be holding quarterly Baronial Forums or Populous Meetings.  The first will be in March. Please feel free to contact us with any needs or concerns you have.

With the coming of January, we see many opportunities to share the Dream with our cousins in the Kingdom: on the 9th we are excited to attend 12th night at the Barony of Gryphon’s Lair to see our newest cousins invested as the new Baron and Baroness Asgierr & Allesandria and bid a well-earned retirement to Their Excellencies Vilhelm and Bethany. We encourage one and all to attend to support this most august event! Later in January, on the 16th we have a wonderful event in the Barony of 1000 eyes for The Silk Road (Baron’s Champion). Finally, on the 23rd, we will be on our way to the Barony of Arn Hold for the Masked Ball.

On January 17th, we will have our traditional Newcomers and Awardees night, hosted by Æylwin and Amanda. While all are welcome, Baron Morgan is sending out special invites for those Awardees and newcomers, and would love assistance in identifying the newcomers among us so that they may be recognized!

With February on the Horizon, we look to the distant lands of Caid and the Talon and Crescent War. We highly encourage your participation in this wonderful display of inter-kingdom friendship and camaraderie as we show the service, arts and sciences, and power of the Griffon lands! More details as the time grows nearer. Also, Their Majesties are en route to Atenvelt for the Estrella War and we wholeheartedly encourage you to join them, if you are able.

We are currently looking for a new Captain for Thrown Weapons and all offices seek deputies, so please come and learn more about how the Barony operates by serving in this role! It’s a perfect way to make new friends and help plan for the success of us all!

With great hopes for the new year we send best wishes and warmest salutations to you and yours!
