Minister of Arts & Sciences:
Classes at summer FP are ongoing. Reminder: I will be stepping down in December. Please contact me if you are interested in becoming MOAS at [email protected]. I intend to train anyone well for taking on this very important role.
Knight Marshall:
Twenty-one fighters participated in the month of April. We have moved outside at the Viridian Event Center, 8030 S 1825 W West Jordan, UT 84088.
Rapier:
Forty-two fighters attended practice in April. The location continues to be at the Viridian Event Center, 8030 S 1825 W West Jordan, UT 84088.
Archery:
About 10 people attended each practice in April. Practice will be outside in May, continuing on Thursday evenings. Contact Captain of Archery at [email protected] for more details about location and times.
Chatelaine:
Please give feedback about, and suggestions for, classes at FP. A yard sale will be held at Barons’ War to benefit newcomers’ classes. Donations will be much appreciated. We are trying to keep a record of who attends any events for the first time. Guilds, etc. are invited to share this information with the Chatelaine. HE Owna will be stepping down from this office in January 2018. She will be asking for letters of intent in the near future.
Updates on ongoing Baronial Business:
- Using “ALERT” is getting old, so instead it will be “FIGHTERS PAY ATTENTION!!” this month: Possibilities for a winter site continue to be explored, but more are needed. Please continue to give your ideas for a new location to the Knight Marshall, [email protected]. The intent is for practice to continue to be held on Tuesday evenings.
- The Barony needs or will be needing the following: a Youth Officer Deputy who will step up to the Youth Officer position; a Youth Combat Marshall; a MOAS.
Updates on Events and Demos in the Planning Stages:
- Get Melee Madness on your calendar for June 3 and 4. We’ll be gathering at our traditional site, The Castle at the Utah State Hospital. See Kingdom and Baronial websites for details.
- Baron’s War planning continues and official announcements/postings should occur soon as all paperwork has been submitted. Reserve Friday, August 4th through Sunday, August 6th, 2017 for camping with your SCA family. (If you want to help set up you can get on site on Thursday evening August 3rd … hint, hint.)
Other Business:
A Populace Meeting is tentatively being planned for July 19, 2017. Details to follow.

Any member of the populace is welcome to attend the monthly Forum, which is held at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of the month, at Their Excellencies, 13575 S 1300 E, Draper. Next Forum will be June 14, 2017.
